General Santos City Road Trip Diary

Image
Purple Slipperz (that's me)  together with 7 other bloggers went to General Santos City to attend the Blogfest Soccskargen 2.0 last November 25, 2011. At exactly 4:09am when Pinay Travelista and I was fetched at Pinay Travelista's place.  We reached Bukidnon at around 7:30 am. We stop by for breakfast and continue the road trip. It's around 12 noon when we stopped by a grill house for lunch. They serve fresh hito. We had 2  piece  of these fried cooked for lunch. A Display outside the grill house Filipinos are indeed born innovative. Here's a non working rice cooker converted into a stove. Cool! Here's another interesting display outside the grill house where we had lunch. This is already in Davao City More posts from THE GENSAN-DAVAO-BUKIDNON Road Trip.

Going to the Home of Champions, GenSan!

Image
Manny Pacquiao, is just one GenSan icon that consistently makes the Filipinos proud! Binansagang "Pambansang Kamao" because of consistently being victorious in his craft which boxing! His rags to riches story just "ahhh" everyone. And almost each and every boxer in the world idolizes Manny and some even would want to challenge him with a match in the boxing ring. Recently, Shamcey Supsup , crowned Bb Pilipinas Universe and Ms Universe 3rd runner up was added to the list. The undeniable beauty and brains, just wowed everyone, not only the Filipinos but the whole world. But Gensan is not all about the entertainment world. There are lot of things that Gensan is very proud of. But what drives me to go to Gensan? It'll be my first time to step foot General Santos City. Yes that's true. My family have been there a lot of times, but it's sad that I've never been there with them. Yeah, the unfortunate reality  of working away from home and

Bohol With Family : Activities and Itinerary

Image
The second time I was in Bohol was not because of a vacation trip. It was an emergency. A mother of an old friend (old? meaning di na friend karon? lols) had a scheduled operation at the Provincial Hospital, so we were there for moral support. The third time I went to Bohol was with my family. It was just recently that I have known that my ancestors were from Bohol and are pure Boholanos. I wasn't able to meet a boholano relative there during the visit though but my family has been there with my Lolo and Lola I think last 2008 or 2009 during the Kids International Village held in Bohol. Few familiar clan members were there and so they had a quick meet and greet with the family. No wonder why Bohol is so dear to me. And obviously I wasn't there because I'm damn working and yes vacation leaves are limited. I have written an article about this trip in my old blog, It's a week long vacation with the whole family visiting Cebu and Bohol. Click on the links and/or pi

My First Bohol Trip

Image
Bohol has a significant place in my heart. My first step in Bohol was June of 2007 and ever since then I have been coming back  to Bohol. I had a very good impression with Bohol and the Boholanos, during my first trip I was lucky to be with the right people. I was with a Boholana team mate "Lily" from Convergys and their CVG Barkada, hmmm I was a "kuyog baboy" then. lols... Photo by Randy Quina When we arrived Tagbilaran, we were picked up by her family and registered tour guide who is also a family friend. We immediately had a tour around Bohol. Before the whole tour started, the tour guide welcomed us (the guests) in Bohol and sang Bohol's Hymn, which is so lovely. As a first timer, I was so impressed with how the tour guide welcomed us... indeed it was a warm welcome from a Boholano. I feel so special then, I was happy I was being treated like a real tourist, which I hope everyone would experience.  We've been to many places of Boh

Dahilayan Adventure Park : Activities

Image
Ziplines - They have two zipzones, the Family Zip zone and the Asia's Longest Dual Zip Zone.   Zorb ball - It's one of the activities that I don't want to try again. The first one I had was in Midway Resort in Mis Or. Walking in the water while being rolled over. Parang nagkabali-bali ang buto ko and nagkagulo ang tyan ko. That I felt so dizzy when I came out and ruined my whole day. So I can't let it happen again most specially with the people I am with at that time. However, if it's IBS Family, I definitely will try it again. At least they knew how to handle me, nyehehehehe Horse Back riding - I didn't have the chance to do so. But when you arrive at the park you will see them immediately on the side. It's not part of the Dahilayan Adventure but locals are bringing their horses for minutes of horse back ride for tourists to try. White Water Rafting - My expectations where not set to do it. I haven't prepared any extra clothes

Asia's Longest Dual Zipline @ Dahilayan Bukidnon

Image
Ever since I had my very first zipline experience in Cebu (Dose Pares) , I have been a daredevil wanting to try each and every zipline facility. If you'd ask me which ones from the ones I tried out has the smoothest landing, friendly and accommodating crew, good facilities and probably the cheapest? Just ask me, I can name it. That's why when a good friend of mine, Darlene, asked me to zip with her at Dahilayan, without second thoughts I said Yes. So we were picked up by a 4x4 car, passengers board in and up we went. We passed people enjoying the ATV drive. The car went up the mountain,it's one of the scary rides i had. I feel like being thrown off anytime I loose a grip on my chair. It was a rough road but I was happy and excited when we reached the jump off point. The 840 meters Dahilayan Adventure Park's Zipline is the Asia's Longest Dual Zipline. That’s 4,700 feet above sea level. Dual Zipline because you'll zip in two's. You will be in a

Dahilayan Adventure Park: How To Get There?

Image
If You are from Luzon and/or Visayas : You can take a flight going to CDO Lumbia Airport. From the Airport you can take a cab and go to where the Dahilayan Shuttle pick up center is (Coffeeworks, XU) . Dahilayan Adventure Park provides transportation from Cagayan de Oro to Dahilayan Adventure Park for only Php 350 pesos Non-Aircon Bus  during weekdays and Php 300.00 during Saturdays.  If you prefer to take a CAB/TAXI you may have to deal at your own risk. If you are in groups, you can rent a van going to Dahilayan Adventure Park . or you can take a bus ride at Agora Terminal Going Bukidnon. Ask the Bus Driver's Assistant (pinagandang term ng Conductor hehe) to drop you off Manolo Fortich. When you are already at Manolo Fortich you can either chose to ride a motorcycle (habal-habal) or rent a car going to Dahilayan Adventure Park , whichever you prefer. So this is our route, since I am from Iligan City, we rented a van for a day to bring us to Dahilayan A

Bukidnon: Dahilayan Adventure Park

Image
A good friend of mine invited me for a trip to Dahilayan, Bukidnon. Since I haven't been there yet, I joined them to experience the outdoor thrill of Dahilayan Adventure Park. If you'll visit their website, you will see a country like view while experiencing extreme adventures in Dahilayan. So they day came and friends from my MBM Class joined the pack. ILPI Managers where with us too. We were scheduled to leave Iligan City around 6:00 am, but due to factors beyond my control, our van left at almost 7:00 am. They picked me up at Barinaut, Iligan City and when I entered the car I can smell conflict (lols). We reached Cagayan de Oro at around 9:35am, we stopped by in one of the Gasoline Stations somewhere Gusa, CDO to stretch some muscles,  bathroom use and a few bought some water and food supplies. I'm maybe very excited that I couldn't sleep while travelling. I know it is not advised but I do usually sleep when on the road. Why? because I easily get dizzy
