[EVENTS] Iligan City Holds Coastal Clean-Up Day



Coastal Clean-up day is a simultaneous event held in 3 identified cities in the Philippines. In Luzon the coastal clean-up day was held in ParaƱaque City. In Visayas the event was held in Dumaguete City, and the Mindanao leg of the event was held in Iligan City last June 9, 2014. 



The event was hosted and sponsored by the US Embassy Manila PH. The event was closely monitored by Washington DC through social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). Participants of the events where organized by the USSG Alumni and Dagat ni Minda . In Iligan City the event was held at the coastal areas of Baranggay Santiago. 

The event aims to promote awareness to people about how to take care of our ocean. The locals of the baranggay where also encouraged to participant to clean up the coastal area most specially they are the residents living nearby.

The event was participated by the local baranggay officials and its residents, some student organizations of MSU-IIT, representatives from the public sectors and media.
