During summer most of the time, people thinks about travelling or going out for a vacation. For the first time, I haven't planned anything for summer. But I do have scheduled trips out of town, for some committments, and not really the vacation that I have in mind. True... Sendong somehow change my priorities and would possibly forever be. I mean a lot of this changed, a lot of lives where changed. But I'm still blessed for having my family complete. So instead of really planning a trip outside Iligan, me and my family chose to explore Iligan instead. Instead of spending thousands for vacation, we opt to have our house fixed instead. So here's how I spent my summer this year: I have been to a local beach in Sta. Filomena, a couple of times with my family and neighbors. It was not an expensive trip because theirs no entrance fees and transportation costs was only 8.00 pesos per person, and a 30.00 pesos fee for the table rental. No one expected, that the water would reach 12 feet above the roof. Seeing it in my own eyes, frightened me with disbelief. Flash flood as how they call it, flashed our belongings away and totally covered what's left with mud. Here's a photo of our house taken by the CFC- Restoration team who helped us clean the interior of our house. But it's still unlivable because the roofing was shuttered. Who would thought that my previous post  Visiting Benjamin Andrada Building and Museum Part 2  could have been my last blog post. Sendong flash flood in Iligan City almost took me and 5 of my family members. That was very traumatic. Here's a very unlikely picture of me. Gwapito of Gwapito.com took it during his visit when IBS team found out where me and my family was after the flash flood. I'm holding my dog that's why I am holding a chain.  It's not only me, but almost everyone's lives changed after typhoon Sendong passed Northern Mindanao and torn down thousand houses and took away thousand lives. Every time it starts to rain I can't understand my feeling. The vision of the water that suddenly goes up to the roof level is still fresh to me.
