Iligan City | Waterfalling Adventure Tour 3.0

Image
I missed the Waterfalling Adventure Tour 2.0 last year. I was in Cebu City, working my butt. Seeing their pictures streaming online, seriously frustrates me. "I can't be an office worker forever", I uttered. Hehehe This time with Waterfalling Adventure Tour 3.0, from planning to execution, I wanted to be there. But since because of a prior committment with family reunions, I couldn't be in all the legs of the tour. My sister Nique, wanted to join Limunsudan leg which is scheduled on day 2 of the tour, our schedules however, will not permit it. So we decided to join the day 3 itinerary instead. The waterfalling adventure tour this year was scheduled May, instead of the usually September trip. Why? because September is a hectic month for Iligan. The whole month celebration of the City Fiesta, makes it a bit difficult for us to get sponsorship committments, the city is so crowded and in between coverage of the city events, makes the schedule jampacked. ...

Limunsudan Falls: I never thought we will ever meet

Image
Limunsudan Falls, is the second tallest waterfalls in the Philippines, found in Rogongon, Iligan City. Because of the horror stories I've heard about how-to-get-there, it's one of the waterfalls in Iligan City, I can live with not going. It's in my bucket list of to-do's but I can certainly go on with my life not really reaching this falls. But few days ago, I was there.  with matching pawis (sweat) pa yan ha? Grabe naman kayo kung sabihin pang fake yan. Will post more of this soon.  I'm still in a cloud, I never thought I can see this falls personally ever in my entire life. I thought, maybe my grandchildren or children can enjoy it better than me. The horror stories of the road and the means of transportations available just to get there, makes me decide, I'll be fine not to be able to conquer and chase the waterfalls. With the current weight I have put on right now, I thought I wouldn't be able to manage even up to the viewing point. But hey, I...

Iligan City | Limunsudan Falls

Image
Limunsudan Falls the second highest waterfalls in the country. Located at Sitio Limunsudan Barangay Rogongon, Iligan City was said to be the most ambitious destination for a waterfalls chaser. I heard a lot of stories about Limunsudan Falls and the horror of having to trek 3 days of getting there makes most of the people back out or scratch it out from their list. Good thing we were able to find the easiest way of getting there via Talakag Bukidnon.  The undergoing construction of the Iligan - Bukidnon road is a promising project, making this beautiful waterfalls hopefully be accessible to other adventurers. But since it's still not available at this time, we took the via Talakag Bukidnon Route.  I'll be sharing with your our itinerary during the trip: 5:00 AM - We were scheduled to depart from Iligan on board in a 4x4 Pickup truck of DPWH. We are expecting that the road would be rocky and bumpy and a lot of uphill routes. 8:00 AM - We stopped for breakfa...

[EVENTS] Iligan City | Waterfalling Adventure Tour 1.0

Image
Iligan City celebrates it's Fiesta with Señor San Miguel for the whole month of September. So when July ends, I know August and September will be a very busy month for me. I had to cut and  reschedule business related trips, schedule personal activities carefully and plan out how to make an activity a reality.

Iligan City | Macaraeg-Macapagal Ancestral House

Image
August 30, 2011, after our (me and my little sis) swimming class, we head immediately to Macaraeg-Macapagal Ancestral House . I was actually able to visit every corner of the place last August 7, 2011. However, the pictures I took during the tour was not good enough to share and somewhere actually accidentally deleted, I decided to dedicate a time after our swimming classes taking pictures inside the Macaraeg-Macapagal Ancestral House .  Back view Ever since it was widely opened to the public, Iligan City Tourism already took over maintenance and management of the place.  The structure you see is found on the left side of the area. These are new structures that were already constructed by the Iligan City Tourism. It's a function hall for events So here's a glimpse of what to expect there: Left: That's Gloria's Playhouse  Right: metal chairs and table under the Mango tree Found just before the main door of the house is the office of for...

Iligan City | "The water falls with no name" (yet?)

Image
August 29, 2011 Afternoon I had a waterfalls adventure with Bro Poloy and Sis Jacqueline at Dalipuga. We are heading to 3 waterfalls that afternoon. Dalipuga Falls We first passed  by Dalipuga Falls, but didn't actually care to test the waters since there are people enjoying the place and we're thinking of heading immediately to the next one since the sky already showed his signal that rain showers might fall at any moment. So from the Dalipuga falls, we climb a short steep rock wall and head to the second falls. 10 minute of walk we reached this green lushes which i thought was like that of a sound of music scene.. (♫♫ the hills are alive with the sound of music♫♫) hehe alright so we had to literally pass two (2)  to three (3) mountains for an up and down trail to reach the second waterfalls. I checked with the city tourism and even Mr. Explore Iligan 9200 about the name of this falls but they are not quite familiar with it. If you ask the local, they ...
