When I was in Gensan, during the tour for outside Sockksargen bloggers who came for the Blogfest 2.0 one of our bountiful stop was in Sarangani Highlands. Why bountiful? Because we had our eat-all-you-can breakfast there! ahahahahaha I am not 100% sure whether the buffet breakfast is served regularly in the place but it when we went there.  The breakfast was quite heavy (quite lang daw oh! hahaha), nothing extraordinary really, but my very sensitive tummy was very satisfied and happy. I like beef tapa much kasi hahahaha. By the way, don't be deceived with this plated in food, coz it went round 2 lols.. I was that hungry! Over breakfast, in the other table we met the owner of Tribu (yes... tribu na tribu slipperz) and the guru of head wear. Who was actually there to try out paragliding in Sarangani Highlands, coz they're planning to promote it as one of the attractions and will eventually be offered to the adrenaline-rush lover public. Welcome To Asia's Tuna Capital and this is how well planned the area is. Magandang Gensan! I went to Gensan last November of 2011, when we attended the Sockksargen Blogfest 2.0. Although I am from Mindanao, it's quiet sad to say that it was my first time in General Santos City, thus I don't want to miss the Gensan tour prepared by Bariles himself and his brother Ganda-ever-so-much. And one of the major stop is in the Gensan Fish Port. I have heard a lot of stories about the Gensan Fish Port and how clean and organize it is. I was thrilled with the story of seeing gazillions (exaggerated i know! hehehe) of tuna in front of you. The IBS members who have been there thousand times said I can buy tuna flakes there for less than a hundred per kilo! Knowing that my mind is already counting how many kilos can I afford? ahahaha. It's our 2nd day in GenSan. We woke up 5:45  in the morning, my room mates were Pinay Travelista and TravelJams . We immediately took a bath and wore our Apple Green IBS Polo Shirts except PinayTrav who can't seem to find the right color of the polo shirt, lols... (peace lai hehehe) Daing na Bangus! :) We had breakfast in the hotel and then head straight to SunCity Suites Function Hall for Blogfest . The Stage And believe it or not we're the early birds! They say Soccskargen Bloggers is the funnest blogger group and Blogfest is the funnest gathering of bloggers in Mindanao. And I should say, they were never wrong in claiming that, coz for real, they really are and the blogfest really is. I can't remember a time that I stopped smiling, giggling and laughing during the event. The speakers were my Blogger idol...

We had our first dinner at KCC Food Court. Food Courts have been travelers go to place when travelling, other than the known fast food chains. However, if you're in a tight budget you may want to visit some Carenderia. But food safety should always be considered first. Here's what we had for dinner. It's not really a Gensan delicacy but it's satisfying for a very hungry traveller!  They're cleaning the area na... wait.. kakain pa ako! hehe This I think is Pork Steak Sharing a meal with TravelJams :) This is suppose to be a dessert but I don't really eat it as dessert it's a viand for me... lols it taste like all milk though. We arrived in General Santos at around 5 o;clock in the afternoon, we head straight to our Pension House to leave our stuff and rest for a few minutes before we scout for dinner. We chose to drop by SunCity Suites where the Blogfest Soccskargen 2.0 will be held for us and our driver to familiarize the place and maybe dine at the nearest restaurant. Christmas is indeed in the air. When we reached SunCity Suites here's what welcomed us. A Star studded Christmas Tree (hehe) Unfortunately the Jo's Chicken Inato in SunCity is not yet open, we had to look for another one. We head to KCC Mall for dinner. hmmmm the color is so cool. It's not eye distracting... love it!

I find this quiet interesting. I noticed that in every place there are distinctive designs of public utility motorcycles, in the Philippines this is popularly known as pedicabs. And the pedicabs in GenSan look like this. So cute! Here's a closer look  I really find it interesting that I did pose for a picture. Because of this from now on, I will be taking pictures of the pedicabs in every place I visit. Thanks TravelJams for this photo. This pedicab has a different look but still in Gensan.

Purple Slipperz (that's me)  together with 7 other bloggers went to General Santos City to attend the Blogfest Soccskargen 2.0 last November 25, 2011. At exactly 4:09am when Pinay Travelista and I was fetched at Pinay Travelista's place.  We reached Bukidnon at around 7:30 am. We stop by for breakfast and continue the road trip. It's around 12 noon when we stopped by a grill house for lunch. They serve fresh hito. We had 2  piece  of these fried cooked for lunch. A Display outside the grill house Filipinos are indeed born innovative. Here's a non working rice cooker converted into a stove. Cool! Manny Pacquiao, is just one GenSan icon that consistently makes the Filipinos proud! Binansagang "Pambansang Kamao" because of consistently being victorious in his craft which boxing! His rags to riches story just "ahhh" everyone. And almost each and every boxer in the world idolizes Manny and some even would want to challenge him with a match in the boxing ring. Recently, Shamcey Supsup , crowned Bb Pilipinas Universe and Ms Universe 3rd runner up was added to the list. The undeniable beauty and brains, just wowed everyone, not only the Filipinos but the whole world. But Gensan is not all about the entertainment world. There are lot of things that Gensan is very proud of. But what drives me to go to Gensan? It'll be my first time to step foot General Santos City. Yes that's true.
