CAMIGUIN | How to get there?
I'm currently in Camiguin Island right now for the CFC-Singles for Christ Regional Conference for North Eastern Mindanao on Friday to Sunday October 9-11, 2015.
I'm sharing how to get here options and transportation expenses from Cagayan de Oro City to Camiguin Island.
I'm sharing you convenience and budget friendly options.
By bus;
1. Ride a bus at the Agora Terminal going to Gingoog City or Butuan buses. You an choose between Airconditioned buses and non-airconditioned bus. Tell the bus driver or "conductor" that your destination is "Balingoan" bus terminal. Bus fare: 84 -150 pesos
Other fees:
Bus terminal fee - 3.00 pesos
2. At the balingoan bus terminal you can choose to ride a pedicab or walk your way to the Balingoan port.
Pedicab: 8.00 pesos
3. Balingoan port to Binoni port Camiguin (barge) 170 pesos per person. (45 min to an hour) Terminal Fee: 15.00 pesos
4. Binoni to Sagay (motorela approx 30min) or Mambajao (Multicab approx 30min) - 25 pesos
Total: 371.00
Pro's taking bus or diy;
Gives you a hundred pesos savings.
Cons taking bus or diy;
The hassle of transfering from one transpo to the other. If you have a lot of bags or cargo with you, other than you'll exert more effort bringing those things you might need to hire a porter to help you out in every transfer and the hassle of lining up to buy tickets.
By van:
You can take RR vans that goes straight from Cagayan de Oro to Camiguin Island with door to door service. They have they're own terminal at the back of Gaisano City CDO. Van all-in Fare: 475.00
If you are in Agora Terminal, you can take vans going straight to camiguin island outside the terminal. There are actually men who asks you the moment you get there, just tell them Camiguin and they will lead you to where the van is parked. Complete with receipts. Van all-in-fare: 475.00
Pros in taking the van:
Hassle free travel. The van goes straight from cdo terminal to Camiguin island and they will drop you off to your chosen destination.
From camiguin, they can pick you up too from where you are if your taking the earliest trip to CDO.
Cons in taking the van:
Pay more.
But for me I don't mind paying an extra hundred for a hassle free and worry free travel. Ill arrive in cdo or camiguin pretty and in good mood. Hehehe
See you mga kapatid!
